Last week was action packed! In addition to all my medical challenges, I managed to make two book submissions to Heirloom Literary who had opened their doors to the public for direct book queries for one 5-day period only. Fortunately, I had my historical fantasy novel ready to send. My children’s picture book manuscripts were another matter. I’ve been working on the illustrations for weeks and had just reached the end page and title page images. I did manage to create a gallery of my artwork and illustrations for several of the characters from both manuscripts. If you mouseover the image, you can see the text describing the picture. You can find it here: https://www.lianabrittain.ca/gallery
At this point I intend to finish the end pages for A MOST CURIOUS MAGICAL TALE – I have a cute idea of the final page of the book and I’m considering making it like a trademark for the series. You’ll have to wait and see, but as a hint I’ll tell you that Phildor is involved! I also want to do the title page and then begin work on the storyboarding. I plan on doing a bit each day as my shoulder permits. In addition, today, I redid the child character. I wasn’t very happy with the expression on its face. I’m using an antique style hourglass timer to help me pace myself!
Most of the day was spent creating the content for the first 5 videos in our cooking series. We also modified the title. It’s still G-G Cooks, but now it stands for Gluten-free Gramma. We’re going to begin the project with how to make a roux and follow it up with gluten-free things you can make with one like gravy, Bechamel sauce, cheese sauce and my own custom variation of an Alfredo sauce. We plan to start filming on Friday! I’m very excited about it. Peter has been able to retrieve some primers I made. One is on gluten-free flours, and the other is about gluten-free pasta. I’m not sure where we’re going to put that information. We may have to create a second web site. Things for future consideration.
Best wishes always…
P.S. Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog! My intention is to keep followers up to date on my latest writing adventures. My current focus is on fiction genres including children's picture books and YA/NA historical romanticies. I'm also preparing to write an epic fantasy for the young adult audience. As a debut author I face all the challenges of breaking into the traditional publishing market. I need your interest and support to do so! Please consider following me here and on other social media platforms, which you can access on the Home page of my author's web site. I'll be adding more in the weeks to come so please check back from time to time as I add new non-fiction materials to my entries. Thank you so much, in advance, for following my blog. You are potentially helping me enrich the lives of future readers. I just need this break to attract my first agent representation! Your efforts will make all the difference! Thank you once again.
