I believe it’s important to nourish your inner child, keeping them vibrant and alive at all times. As a very young child I accepted, through experience, that there is more than the here and now. My maternal grandmother read tea leaves. She was able to connect with all things through the process of divination. I too have inherited these gifts.

When I was eleven years old, my father insisted that I study comparative religion. That journey has become a lifelong exploration leading me down many paths in an attempt to understand others and my own spirituality. For several years, I studied with Dr. Sharon Blackie in the UK. Through her, I was able to learn more about my Celtic heritage by studying traditional myths, folklore and fairytales. Her work examines Jungian archetypes from these sources in an attempt to help me, and others, become empowered to be the best version of my authentic self.

I’m passionately interested in history, both past and current. My mother inspired me to study our own family history by sharing her love of genealogy with me and my cousin Steve. During that period, we collectively traced our ancestors back more than four hundred years. I have continued my studies independently by having my own DNA examined. It came as no surprise that my ancestry is 94% Celtic and 6 % Icelandic and Norwegian. I was also able to trace my mitochondrial DNA out of Africa, through Europe, to the British Isles.

Nature and the world around me have always provided a healing element to my life; especially the sea. I have embraced the belief that we are all connected energetically and that we share a unique bond with Mother Earth. I am a Reiki healer and use crystals to enhance those healing experiences. Through my studies with the Metis women of the Rainbow Council in the Ottawa Valley and the Mauri peoples of New Zealand, I was able to develop an appreciation for all living things and our intertwined existences. These ideas, which I learned through my friendship with a modern Druid, are all tied to my ancient Celtic heritage.

All this has led me to write my first fiction novel in the historical fantasy genre. It is the first in a proposed series where a young, naive woman travels the Celtic Multiverse, coming to the aid of ancestors connect to her through their mitochondrial DNA. I am a passionate storyteller! I look forward to sharing Elizabeth’s adventures in the future. I invite you to join me as I nurture my inner child and tap in to all things mystical.
