Aug. 30 - 31, 2025 - Decisions, Decisions!

I'm working on the end pages for my children's picture book. I've decided to create an illusion for both. The original is called "Torn Paper". Mine is made with book related representations. I want the "curtain" to represent the vegetation of the forest which is the location for the story. Yesterday, I chose a tangle pattern called "Aura-Leah" by Carla Du Preez of Pretoria, ZAF. You can see it below. It was very intricate and looked busy in this application. I had chosen it because it looked like leaves and that's what I was going for, but I just couldn't make it work. I went back at it again this morning with a fresh piece of paper and the tangle pattern "Leaflet" by Helen Williams of Australia. As you can see in the picture below its simplicity allows the illusion to show through better.

The one at the beginning of the book will have the story's title and the one at the back will say "The End". The inside title page with the name of the author illustrator will be similar to the last illustration. I'm still working on that one. It's definitely a work in progress.
