Aug. 17, 2025 - So Excited!

I just got word that, for the first time in years, Heirloom Literacy will be accepting direct submissions from authors! I have 21 days to polish my illustrations for A MOST CURIOUS MAGICAL TALE. Currently, the illustrations are a work in progress. I've attached a picture of some of the characters below. The manuscript is done and the blurb/synopsis are complete. Now I have to work on the query letter and, most importantly, finishing the illustrations of the primary characters and the storyboard.

My grandsons, ages 8 and 11, have told me they prefer books with illustrations that are more like graphic novels. I've been studying this style of illustration and am going to attempt it. I have two great critics that will tell it like it is!

I will also submit my YA historical romantasy for consideration. I'll use two different agents, naturally. Heirloom have created an interesting approach to this launch. You have to follow them on Instagram in order to find out the submission guidelines and the agents participating. Very clever idea! I love a good challenge and a bit of mystery!
