I've been putting the finishing touches on Phildor the Baby Dragon Bear character today. I added a row of decorative loops down his tummy and highlights in shades of purple. The added touches really make the character pop. I’m very pleased with these added details and can honestly say I feel the character is complete now. Below I've posted the original dragon drawing from the genealogy kit created in the '90s and the new child friendly version meant to appeal to younger children in the preschool to Grade 2 age group. I wanted him to look like a teddy bear - soft and cuddly, so as not to frighten little ones. He's meant to be more mischievous and sweet than menacing.

Next I’ll tackle Devaro, the wizard. He’s the main character of the story. I’ve created several different views to work with. The next step is to choose a colour palette. I’ve been considering shades of red but will have to create some colour swatches before making any decisions.

I also did some preliminary work on the world building of the epic fantasy I want to write. It’s proving more complex than I expected. So, I think I’ll put it aside for today and tackle it when I’m fresh.

Best wishes always…

P.S. Welcome to my blog! My intention is to keep followers up to date on my latest writing adventures. My current focus is on fiction genres including children's picture books and YA/NA historical romanticies. I'm also preparing to write an epic fantasy for the young adult audience. As a debut author I face all the challenges of breaking into the traditional publishing market. I need your interest and support to do so! Please consider following me here and on other social media platforms, which you can access on the Home page of my author's web site. I'll be adding more in the weeks to come so please check back from time to time. Thank you so much, in advance, for following my blog. You are potentially helping me enrich the lives of future readers. I just need this break to attract my first agent representation! Your efforts will make all the difference! Thank you once again.
