Aug. 1, 2025 - What Comes Next?

Today was very exciting. Now that my novel is in the beta readers’ hands, I’m focusing on aspects of my query letter. I’ve done some online research, attended a seminar, and watched two videos about Blurbs vs Synopsis. Tomorrow I hope to begin drafting some of each to present to peers in Pitch to Published (P2P) forums.

I also began work on the illustrations for my children’s picture book this afternoon. I’ve created a ZIA (Zentangle Inspire Art) picture for the title page of the book. I began colouring the border, the sky and the primary background. I’m working with Micron pens, Gel pens and Soft centre pencil crayons. The image is extremely detailed, so it’s been slow going, but I’m pleased with my progress so far.

I had no idea this process was so complicated! I’m learning so many new things every day. I’m loving this journey. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings. I hope all’s well in your world….
