Welcome to my blog! My intention is to keep followers up to date on my latest writing adventures. My current focus is on fiction genres including children's picture books and YA/NA historical romanticises. I'm also preparing to write an epic fantasy for the young adult audience. As a debut author I face all the challenges of breaking into the traditional publishing market. I need your interest and support to do so! At the moment, I’ve finished a dramatic revision of my Historical Romantasy, THE TRIQUETRA LEGACY which I'm currently pitching to literary agents for representation. It now comes in at around 102,000 words. I’ve edited out about 7,000 words and added more romance, including an intimate scene which occurs in the historical part of the story. Last night I sent revised manuscripts to several beta readers for critique. I’ve also changed the genre to YA and NA. In addition, I’ve revised the blurb. The feedback I got suggested it was way too wordy and technical and that as a result it was putting people off! I can only offer my apologies to agents I’ve sent query letters to in the past. I had no idea it was that bad. I’ll include my latest effort at the bottom of the of the post. Please feel free to offer your constructive suggestions as comments. I’d really appreciate your help. I'm also working on the illustrations for A MOST CURIOUS MAGICAL TALE. This charming children's picture book is a fantasy written in rhyming couplets. The text is done and comes in at about 465 words. In addition, I'm laying the groundwork for a young adult epic fantasy.
